1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Eye Learn ("we", "us"), an independently operated service, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Service. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information you give us directly: your name, username, email address, and password when you register; the flashcards, collections, and study content you create; and the text you type when requesting AI generated flashcards, along with any collection context used to generate them. We also collect information generated by your use of the Service, such as study activity and review history, used to power spaced repetition scheduling and progress tracking.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service: creating and securing your account, storing and syncing your study content, scheduling reviews, generating AI flashcards on your request, processing payments, sending account related emails such as verification and password reset messages, and responding to support requests.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the following third parties, only as needed to provide the Service:

• Stripe, to process subscription payments. Stripe receives payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number.
• Resend, to deliver transactional emails such as account verification, password reset, and billing notices.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, to verify your identity.
• Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), and Groq, to generate AI flashcards. When you request AI generated flashcards, the learning request text you type and any collection context you provide are sent to one of these providers to produce the flashcards. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into an AI generation request.

Each of these providers processes your information under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose described above.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Eye Learn uses only strictly necessary, httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in; we do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal identifiers, to understand overall site usage in aggregate. Because we do not use tracking cookies or collect personal data for analytics, no cookie consent banner is shown.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information and study content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data, including flashcards, collections, and study history, is permanently deleted, and associated media files are removed from storage.

7. Your Rights

You can access and correct your account information at any time from your account settings. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data using the account deletion feature in your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, such as the right to request a copy of your data; contact us at eyelearns@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Eye Learn is not directed at children under 13, consistent with the minimum age described in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at eyelearns@gmail.com so we can delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of the third parties described above, including our AI, payment, and email providers, are based in the United States. If you are located in Brazil or elsewhere outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries with different data protection laws than your own. We take steps to ensure these providers offer an appropriate level of protection for your data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you before they take effect, the same way we would for changes to our Terms of Service.
